3 Post Holiday Beauty Boosting Homemade Detox Drinks

With a handful of weeks back to work under your belt, you’re probably considering getting back into a healthy routine. After a holiday season filled with over indulgence and sleep-ins, your body likely needs a little reboot and readjustment, and homemade detox drinks are a great way to flush out the system and have you feeling new and refreshed again.

Sure you can cut out sweets, drinks and second servings, but your body probably needs something more to really kick it into gear. My suggestion to you is to fill up on vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and what better way to do that than by trying one of my delicious post-holiday beauty boosting homemade detox drinks!

1) Go Go Green Goodness

With approximately 50% of your daily Vitamin A & C intake in just one cup, this blended beverage is full of all the right ingredients.

What you need:

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 cup of kale
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ¾ cup filtered water
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • A blender

Step 1: Carefully clean all of your ingredients so there is no dirt (or pesticides if you aren’t using Organic foods).

Step 2: Remove the core from your apples. Even if you normally don’t like the skin, keep it on because once it is blended you won’t even notice the texture.

Step 3: Cut your apple, kale, spinach and celery into small chunks and toss in the blender. Add your remaining ingredients to the blender as well.

Step 4: Blend on high until all of your ingredients are fully pulverized, like a smoothie.

Step 5: If pulp isn’t your thing, strain the contents of your blender over a cup then enjoy!

This vitamin-rich beverage is great for rejuvenating your skin after the holiday season. If you suffer from sun damage or wrinkle-prone skin, the ingredients in this shake can help repair and prevent damage.

2) Citrus’n’Spice and Everything Nice

What you need:

  • 1 banana
  • ¼ inch fresh ginger
  • ½ cup mango
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • ¼ cup filtered water
  • A blender

Step 1: Peel your banana and add it to your blender in one inch chunks.

Step 2: Peel and mince your fresh ginger then add to the blender.

Step 3: Cut your mango into slices and add to blender along with the remaining ingredients.

Step 4: Blend together on high until nice and smooth. Cheers!

What you need:

  • 2 cups of hot water
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon powdered ginger
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 5 drops of Stevia concentrate
  • Half of a freshly squeezed lemon

Step 1: Bring your water to a boil.

Step 2: Add your remaining ingredients to a large tea cup.

Step 3: Add your boiled water and stir. Sip carefully.
